Classes

The work of the visual artist is to translate what cannot be said in words.
Teaching art is merely removing the veil of doubt allowing the student to express
his or her message.
The subject matter to be painted is only a springboard for self expression. How
that subject matter gets represented is always the unique creation of the artist.
I teach because art is a joy for the maker as well as the beholder.

Private and Group class

The Art of Allegory
"Each painting has its own way of evolving. When the painting is finished , the subject reveals itself."  William Baziotes (early American painter)1912-1963

Oil or Acrylic painters, would you like your creations to be more than just  pretty pictures? We will review, through Art history, allegorical themes and painters of allegory. As we understand the concept, we will develop our own work. Class structure will include guidance in developing your creation and positive critiques at the end of each session.

We will interact as a group as well as 'one-on-one' with the instructor. For more information contact, Claudia

Saturday workshops

"Painting is a silent poetry and poetry is the gift of speech" --Simonedes 556 BC-468 BC

Intensive weekend workshop for adults to sharpen their creativity. We will start with your proposed theme and develop that idea through class interaction and 'one on one' feedback. Positive critiques will be provided midway and at the end of class
